about the artist (me)

my name is carson, but i go by the name "inkpistachio" online. im a born and raised londoner, as well as a comic creator, writer, and reader. im pretty young, being born in 2006, older than most people in some african countries, but probably not older than you.

though i grew up with calvin and hobbes treasuries, i dont think i gained proper interest in comics until the summer of i believe 2017. it was a very dark time in my life, but i was so happy whenever i read my little comic strip treasuries. the first comic treasuries i bought were of the strips breaking cat news, fowl language, and my personal favourite out of all of these, buni. a while later i began reading older strips like garfield and peanuts.

the strips that inspire me most are mafalda by quino and life in hell by matt groening. mafalda only recently got english publications, and i dont speak spanish (the strip is argentine), but my mother would read the books to me to practice her spanish during covid times. i absolutely adored them and everything about them impressed me. later my mum and aunt introduced me to life in hell. it kind of blew my mind. it was very different to the traditional comic strip, and ive drawn heavy inspiration from its commentary style.
