what is weed?

weed (known by many other names like cannabis, marijuana, pot, ganja, and hemp [the type grown specifically for industrial/commercial use]) has been used for thousands of years. its use dates back to around 2700 BC, listed in the pharmacopoeia of emperor shen nung (who is regarded as the father of chinese medicine). since then, it has become widely used all around the world, both as medicine and as a way for people to get high. it has been largely criminalised worldwide, for multiple honestly bullshit reasons. learn more about it below!!
